BT2102 - Basic Principles and Calculations in Biotechnology (Class - 3CU) 3BT
Biotechnology is a combination of scientific and engineering knowledge. Working in any sector within biotechnology, whether it is in a laboratory or an industrial setting, will always require mathematics and computation. This course deals with a basic understanding of engineering concepts applied to the life sciences. Students are introduced to the basic principles and calculations in biotechnology needed for laboratory and industrial practices, including acids and bases solubility, stoichiometry, cell growth, nucleic acid quantification, material, and elemental balances. Moreover, the course covers the knowledge students need for doing the calculations in future courses. |
